The Department of Animal Services in the City of Los Angeles was established in 1863. The Irvine Animal Care Center provides sheltering, care, and enrichment for homeless, neglected, abused, or unwanted animals. Services include licensing for Irvine residents, pet adoptions, and events.

CASA will strive to facilitate the placement of stray and unwanted animals and pets in desirable homes; to establish and maintain an animal shelter, which promotes the health, care and handling, and prevent over population and the prevention of cruelty to animals. The animals in our care are never euthanized due to lack space, or due to exceeding a predetermined amount of time.
The animals listed below are available for adoption at the Newport Beach Animal Shelter. The list is updated every few hours to reflect the current roster of animals whose hold periods have elapsed. Animals available for adoption from the City of Newport Beach are also listed on the Newport Beach Animal Shelter Facebook and Instagram pages, and FONBAS.org.
